Dennis William Murphy - Everybody Needs A Sunset

Everybody Needs A Sunset

Everybody needs a sunset

Everybody needs a romance

somebody to swing in the open afternoon

I’m so tired of being lonely

Wanna to hold my one and only

feel the gentle breeze summers eve

In the light of the night August moon

So let me come on over honey

Show me how to classic two step

Barefoot on your back porch

with shandy wine we’ll keep time

In an out of the summer’s rain

And when then morning comes

I can smell the bacon cornbread biscuits

Spanish scrambled with all the fixen’s

We won’t pretend our love won’t end

And how your hair drapes down

with your come an-get-it  smile

We’ll jump into my ‘74’ Chevy blue

and to the wind toss our brave luck

and cruise out on the open backroads

Drivin’ home with the windows down

without goin’ all the way through town

and Bob Segar AM radio “Turn the Page”

Everybody needs a sunset

Everybody needs a romance

somebody to swing in the open afternoon

So let me come on over honey

Show me how to classic two step

Barefoot on your back porch

with shandy wine we’ll keep time

In an out of the summer’s rain
